eLLipSe is a multi-disciplinary work for solo dancer and live musician. It is a collaboration between choreographer Lisanne Goodhue, musician Simon Goff and visual artist Louise Viger.
Inspired by Italo Calvino book 'Six memos for the next millennium' the work examines how layering conceptual, physical and sonic material can alter one's perception.
Two large-scale pieces of felt, suspended in the space are manipulated by the dancer, examining the point of convergence between the materiality of the fabric and the body treated as a malleable object.
The composition in 6 speaker surround builds throughout the work converging in a multilayers cacophony of all sections played simultaneously.
